Jimmy Ball’s Gulls return home tomorrow, as a talented Cardiff City Under-21 side head to Plainmoor for our first-ever ‘Pay What You Want’ fixture.
Plainmoor Pass holders are reminded that pre-season fixtures are NOT included within the Pass package, and therefore a valid match ticket must be obtained for this fixture.
All donations made online or at the turnstiles will go directly towards the TUFC Youth Department, the Yellow Army will have the opportunity to check on the progress of The Gulls’ pre-season preparations, whilst helping the next generation at the same time!
Donation-based tickets can be purchased online in advance HERE, or alternatively, donations can be made by card or cash via the Family Stand or Popside turnstiles, which will be open from 11am.

Tomorrow’s Opponents
Cardiff City Under-21s enjoyed a highly encouraging 2025/26 season, one that highlighted the strength of the club’s academy and reinforced its commitment to developing young talent for the future. While results naturally fluctuated throughout the campaign, the season was defined by the continued growth of the squad, impressive individual performances, and the valuable experience gained by a group of promising young players preparing for senior football.
Competing in the Professional Development League, the Bluebirds demonstrated resilience, technical quality, and an attacking style of play. The team produced a number of eye-catching performances, recording 11 league victories and showing their ability to compete consistently against some of the strongest academy sides in the country. Their positive goal-scoring record reflected an exciting brand of football that entertained supporters while allowing players to express themselves in possession.
Cup competitions also provided valuable opportunities for the young Bluebirds to test themselves in different environments. The experience of facing a variety of opposition helped accelerate the development of the players, exposing them to different styles of football and increasing their confidence in competitive situations. These matches proved invaluable in preparing the squad for future challenges both at academy and senior level.
Equally impressive was the strong team spirit that developed over the course of the season. Players supported one another through difficult moments and celebrated successes together, creating a positive culture that reflected the values of Cardiff City Football Club. The leadership shown by senior academy players also helped younger members of the squad settle into Under-21 football and continue their progression.
Perhaps the greatest success of the 2025/26 campaign was the continued production of players capable of challenging for opportunities beyond academy football. The season strengthened the pathway between the academy and the first team, providing optimism for supporters eager to see home-grown talent represent the Bluebirds in the years ahead.
