Youth Round-Up – Boys

Gulls Youngsters Shine in Another Action-Packed Weekend

The Gulls’ youth teams were back in action this weekend, producing impressive performances and continuing their development on and off the pitch.

Let’s take a closer look at the performances across the age groups…

Under 8s

The boys made a slow start in the first quarter, showing their opponents a little too much respect, but in the second and third, they looked like a completely different team.

Finley Ridley was everywhere on the pitch and deservedly took the Player of the Match award.

Under 9s

It’s always a close contest between these two sides, and this game was no different. The boys started fast again, pressing high and winning the ball in dangerous areas to create early chances.

As Saints Whites pushed more bodies forward, The Gulls adapted well, using our goalkeeper to bypass the press and create exciting attacking moments.

Under 9 Yellows

A fantastic game today between Torquay U9 Yellows and Saints South West, with both teams showing incredible determination and battling hard from start to finish.

Standout performances came from Jack Morgan and Danny Doughty, both finding the back of the net, while Lennie King earned a well-deserved Man of the Match.

Under 10s

The U10s delivered one of their most complete performances of the season against Saints Devon, showing maturity and confidence throughout the match.

Against a side that had even brought in players from their U11 team, the boys showed excellent teamwork, focus, and resilience which resulted in an outstanding display from start to finish.

Under 11s

Torquay U11s produced a spirited performance against SSW Devon, showing real determination after a tough start.

Every player contributed to the performance, demonstrating teamwork and focus in every area of the pitch.

It was a fantastic all-round display, full of effort, resilience, and togetherness, a performance the whole team can be proud of.

Under 13s

The Under 13s impressed in their friendly against Heavitree, running out comfortable 9–2 winners.

The boys dominated the first half with impressive possession football, moving the ball with confidence and showing a clear difference in quality.

The fixture provided a valuable opportunity to rotate the squad and give players minutes in new positions.

Under 14s

Torquay U14s produced a 5–1 win over North Devon in a game that showed their discipline and determination. It wasn’t their strongest performance, but the team stayed organised and got the job done.

Giovanni Vaiao was in outstanding form, netting four goals, while Jude Gillingwater added another to round off the scoring.

Well done, all!
