Ahead of the 2026/27 campaign, TUFC would like to issue the following reminder to supporters.
After many months of waiting, excitement levels are rising at Torquay United, as competitive football returns to Plainmoor for the first time since April.
Over the course of the next ten months, passions will undoubtedly run high on and off the pitch, but with TUFC having earned a proud reputation as being a community-focused Football Club that is welcoming for all club, it’s important to remind ourselves of our collective responsibilities when visiting the stadium.
Win, lose or draw, we want everyone’s matchday experience to be a pleasant one, and most importantly, a safe one.
Drinking At Plainmoor
Torquay United is pleased to confirm that Saturday’s home clash with Horsham will see the return of supporters being permitted to consume alcoholic drinks in Bristow’s Bench, the Brothwell Irvine Family Stand, and the VX3 Popside.
We ask everyone drinking inside the stadium to be mindful of their limits, particularly in areas with young families.
- Boots & Laces will serve Popside supporters from 3.15pm onwards.
- Gulls Nest will serve supporters in Bristow’s Bench and the Family Stand throughout the match.
- Away supporters in Bristow’s Bench Section A may purchase alcohol from Gulls Nest before 3pm and take drinks back to their seats. After 3pm, away fans will not have access to Gulls Nest.
General rules
- All alcoholic drinks will be served in plastic for consumption inside the stands.
- Only alcohol purchased from designated stadium bars may be taken into the stands.
- Drinks taken back to seats must be in approved plastic containers.
- Alcohol may only be bought and consumed by supporters aged 18+.
- The Club operates Challenge 25. Supporters must carry valid ID.
- TUFC reserves the right to refuse service.
- Under-18s consuming alcohol, or adults purchasing alcohol for minors, will be removed from the stadium.
- Supporters must remain in their ticketed stand; stand-switching is not permitted.
Pyrotechnics
Over the past few years, Football’s governing bodies, the Football Supporters’ Association, and individual Football Clubs throughout the country have continued to warn of the serious dangers of pyrotechnics within football stadiums, as well as reminding supporters that anyone found in possession of or using any such devices will be subject to not only a Club ban, but will also be reported to the police.
Despite the obvious risk of serious injury including burns and breathing problems, in addition to presenting a major fire hazard, instances of pyrotechnics such as flares, smoke bombs, and fireworks being used within football stadiums continue to occur.
In addition to action being taken against any supporters involved, incidents can also have serious financial repercussions for Clubs to which these individuals are affiliated, with fines liable to be issued.
Torquay United FC wishes to reiterate to that it is illegal to bring any form of pyrotechnic or smoke bomb into football stadia, and there will be serious consequences for anybody who decides to ignore these repeated warnings, which the Club fully supports.
For the avoidance of doubt, in addition to an instant stadium ban, the Club confirms that anyone caught possessing or using pyrotechnics will be reported to the police, with any subsequent prosecution potentially leading to a permanent criminal record.
We will continue to take action to ensure those who engage in these dangerous acts are not allowed to tarnish our fanbase’s excellent reputation, and we would like to place on record our sincere thanks to the vast majority of our supporters, who continue to represent our Club with distinction.
Racist & Discriminatory Behaviour
Torquay United FC welcomes supporters from all backgrounds. Racist, discriminatory & abusive language, gestures, or behaviour will not be tolerated at Plainmoor.
The club to determined to enforce a zero-tolerance approach on this subject.
Any supporters that engage in any such actions will instantly be ejected from the ground, and will receive a lifetime ban from Plainmoor.
TUFC will do everything in our power to ensure that players, officials and fans can enjoy football in safety and with respect.
No Smoking At Plainmoor
Supporters are reminded that Plainmoor is a completely smoke-free & vape-free stadium.
No smoking or vaping is permitted inside the stadium at any time, and any supporters partaking in smoking / vaping at Plainmoor will be ejected.
