Torquay United is delighted to announce the signing of Dom Bernard, with the defender arriving from fellow National League side Weston-super-Mare.
A tough-tackling and versatile player who is comfortable in a number of positions, 29 year-old Bernard arrives at Plainmoor with a wealth of experience, boasting nearly 300 appearances for the likes of Aldershot Town, Forest Green Rovers, Yeovil Town and Weston.
With the vast majority of his career having been played in the EFL and National League, including over 40 appearances for Forest Green during their stay in League One four years ago, Dom’s addition to the United roster for 2026/27 is a further boost for the Yellow Army, who have seen Jimmy Ball’s squad-building plans for the upcoming campaign intensify over the past week.
“I made Dom captain when I was manager of Forest Green [Rovers],” said Jimmy Ball. “He brings a lot of experience, a lot of know-how. He’s an outstanding right back at the level and above.”
