Torquay United is pleased to announce the signing of former Accrington Stanley & Shrewsbury Town goalkeeper Toby Savin.
Having progressed through the youth ranks at Stanley, Toby went on to make over a century of appearances over the course of five seasons for the Lancashire-based side, prior to switching to fellow EFL outfit Shrewsbury for the 2024/25 campaign.
After taking in loan spells in the National League at Barnet and Halifax, a permanent switch to Wigan Athletic followed last season, before Gulls boss Jimmy Ball convinced the 25 year-old shot-stopper that his future belonged on the English Riviera for 26/27.
Savin’s arrival at TUFC takes the number of new recruits this summer to eight, and with United’s first pre-season fixture at Buckland Athletic now just a week away, the Yellow Army won’t have too much longer to wait before they can see the new faces in action!
