United Women Announce Retained List

Torquay United’s women have announced their retained list, as Ryan Perks’ side begin to make preparations for their return to the FA Women’s National League next term.

With Sunday’s 5-0 win over Poole securing a domestic treble, the majority of The Gulls’ squad will be retained for the rise to tier four football in 2026/27, with 14 offered new deals.

Discussions remain ongoing with Evelyn Bray, while Matilda Franchi, Jessica Geach and Ellie Mitchell have all been offered another season with The Gulls, following the expiry of the trio’s dual registrations arrangements.

The only two players initially departing Plainmoor for pastures new are midfielders Georgie Knott and Isabel Hillier-Nickels, who both head to the America to continue their playing careers. Everyone at TUFC would like to thank Georgie and Isabel for all their efforts during their time with the club, and wish them all the very best for the future.

Another player who will no longer be with Torquay next season is the retiring Bex McMullin, who has played a huge role in the most successful period in United Women’s history.

Across four memorable campaigns, she has helped The Gulls secure two promotions to the FAWNL, in addition to winning two County Cups.

A committed and influential presence both on and off the pitch, Bex’s passion, determination and professionalism have made her a hugely respected figure within the squad and amongst the Yellow Army.

Reflecting on her time at Plainmoor, McMullin said:

“Thank you to all who have been a part of my journey at Torquay – the players, coaches and our amazing supporters. It’s been a roller coaster through the seasons, with some of my most memorable footballing moments which I will cherish for a lifetime.

“Thank you so much for having me, it has been a pleasure.”

Everyone at TUFC would like to thank Rebecca for her outstanding contribution to the club and wish her every success for the future.

Meanwhile, Women’s Club Captain Danni Wyatt, who missed the entire 2025/26 through injury, will continue to be assessed during her rehabilitation, with the long-serving Gulls forward currently recovering from surgery last month.
