United’s Women Looking To Make It A Double!

Fresh from taking another step towards promotion following their 5-2 home success over Gloucester on Sunday, Torquay United’s women will turn their attention to cup glory on Friday night, as they take on SB Oak Villa in the County Cup final at Coach Road.

With United just three points away from mathematically securing the SWRWFL Premier title, Ryan Perks’ side can secure another of an unprecedented treble as they face Signal Box Oak Villa in the Red Rock Electrical Women’s Premier Cup at Devon FA Headquarters on Friday 1st May (7.15pm KO).

Whilst United progressed through courtesy of a walkover, Villa will head to Newton Abbot in confident mood following a stunning 10-1 semi-final win over Appledore, with Rachel Finch (4) Mia Jones (2), Amy Prior (2), Mia Dulling and Saskia Brisley all getting on the scoresheet.

From a Gulls perspective, Torquay will be looking to claim their second County Cup in four years, after Sasha Mole’s goalkeeping heroics helped United to claim a shock victory over Devon rivals Exeter for their first trophy at the same venue back in 2022.

Entrance Prices

  • Adults: £5
  • Concessions: £3
  • Under-5s: FREE

Food and drink will also be available from The Corner Flag during the course of the evening.

Less than 48 hours after the Villa clash, United will head to Bristol knowing that victory over AEK Boco Ladies will secure The Gulls a return to the FA Women’s National League following their heart-breaking final day relegation two seasons ago.

Kicking off at Boco’s Greenbank Recreation Ground (BS15 3RZ), at 2pm on Sunday, Torquay will head there knowing that a point will probably be enough due to secure the league title – and with it, promotion – due to Perks’ side boasting a hefty goal difference advantage, however, they will no doubt be looking to put the destination beyond all doubt ahead of their final league game at Sherborne the following weekend.

Any members of the Yellow Army able to attend either fixture will be warmly welcomed to cheer on their side to success to two fronts!

As ever, there will be live and exclusive commentary provided for both matches via TUFC Radio HERE, whilst the County Cup Final will also shown live via the Devon FA’s official YouTube channel HERE
