A big thankyou to everyone that helped us raise funds to help our former player, Ryan Higgins, with his next steps outside of football.

It was a massive shock to Ryan, and to everyone at the Club when he received the news in March that he would have to retire at the tender age of 23 due to a heart condition.

The Yellow Army has done its bit to help Ryan move forward by raising funds through a match day collection, an online fund, and a shirt auction run through our Facebook page. The total has come to a little over £1500.

“I would like to thank everyone that has helped me since I received the news,” said Ryan. “I have had a lot of messages that have been forwarded onto myself, and the support from the fans, the Club, and the players has meant a lot to me. For people to part with their hard-earned cash means a great deal.

“I’m doing what I can to find something new to do. It has taken time for it to  sink in, but I feel like I am on the right path.”
