There will be an initial 1pm pitch inspection at Plainmoor ahead of tonight’s 7:45pm kick-off against AFC Fylde.
After heavy rainfall overnight and more rain expected to fall today, the 1pm inspection will be conducted by a local referee and the Devon FA Referee Development Officer, Jason Haywood. If that initial inspection passes and warrants waiting for the match referee, then a further inspection will take place at approximately 4:30-5pm.
If there is no prospect of recovery at 1pm then the match will be postponed at that point. If it passes, then the second inspection will take place.
A reminder that the referee, and the referee only will decide whether the game goes ahead.
We want to give the travelling supporters from AFC Fylde and Torquay United as much information as we currently have to avoid as much disruption as possible.
1:30pm Update: The pitch has been assessed by a local referee at 1pm. It will be inspected once again at 5pm by the match day referee in order to give the match every chance of being played.
A reminder that the referee, and the referee only, will decide whether the game goes ahead. The Club does not have the power to call a game off or on in a situation such as this.
