Torquay United AFC were delighted to hear about the recent kind actions of young Gulls fan, Austin.

Season Ticket holder Vivienne Bell contacted us to highlight the actions of her grandson, who recently donated his quilt covers to help support a brilliant cause, which aims to ease the anxiety of children requiring treatment within Torbay.

Organised by Charlotte Ott and Rebecca Powell, ‘The Sewing Scrub Army’ creates scrubs for Torbay Hospital and community workers, and last week put out an appeal for child-friendly fabric, to help enable children to feel less worried whilst being treated by doctors and nurses.

It was then that Austin acted, donating both his Spider-Man and football quilt covers for a worthy purpose.

Everybody at Torquay United would like to reiterate the words of Gary Johnson, who congratulated Austin in his weekly interview last Friday here.

Well done, Austin – We look forward to welcoming you back to Plainmoor soon!
