Torquay United AFC is delighted to announce the double signing of defender Ollie Tomlinson and forward Corie Andrews.
Having already made six exciting new additions to his 2022/23 roster, manager Gary Johnson has today bolstered his squad further by securing the signing of former Plymouth Argyle centre-back Tomlinson, 20 and former Crystal Palace striker Andrews, 24.
The former made seven first-team outings for Devon rivals Plymouth prior to gained further senior action at Southern League Barnstaple and Truro whilst Corie enjoyed a prolific spell in the National League with Aldershot last time out, netting 9 goals in 20 appearances before joining EFL side Colchester on a similar loan deal.
“Ollie has great potential, he was about to go somewhere else, but he played in a couple of our training sessions and we thought he done ok. We think there’s room for improvement but he’s only a young lad and he’s got what it takes to become a very, very good player – maybe soon, maybe a little bit later, but it’s good to have him in the camp.
“Obviously Corie is a lot older, and a lot more experienced, he’s got great pace and we play the sort of game that will suit him, because he likes to get in behind. He has a very good work rate, and he suits our group. He can be that number 10, and sometimes that number 9, but he does like opening his legs up and sprinting in behind, and I like that as well”
We’ll be bringing you more from more of United’s latest signings soon.
