Torquay United Football Club is please to confirm the signing of highly-rated striker Alex Fletcher from Plymouth Argyle on a 28-day loan deal.

Fletcher, 18, has made 11 appearances for Argyle this season and scored a brace in Argyle’s win over Chelsea U23s in the Checkatrade Trophy this season. He then followed that up with his first League goal against Fleetwood in early October.

“He’s a young lad that I have seen play a few times,” said TUFC head coach, Gary Owers.

“He looks like he has got a goal in him – hard working. He gets in good areas – not a target player but competitive in the air. I’m hopeful he can come in and score us a few goals.”

Owers is looking to bring another striker to the Club to complement Fletcher.

“I’d like to bring someone in to play alongside him, if possible. It is something that we’ll be working on over the next couple of days.”
