There was a great turn out in Boots & Laces on Friday afternoon, as two more Gulls stars took centre stage during our latest Retro Gulls event.

Our February Retro Gulls began in usual fashion, with two current United players in attendance to answer the Retro Gulls’ questions. This month’s Q&A session saw Kieron Evans and Dylan Crowe take to the floor to answer questions about the current campaign.

Following that, our ever-popular quiz put our Retro Gulls through their proverbial paces, in a switch to a 15 question football quiz, as opposed to the usual general knowledge questions. It was the team Tabb & Bradford that earned the bragging rights after scoring 11/15, one ahead of second place.

Martin from Preston & Paignton Community Defibrillator Project then provided an insightful talk about the importance of a defibrillator and how it’s used. He also gave the group a demonstration on a mannequin, before letting the Retro Gulls have a go themselves!

Torquay United AFC would like to thank everyone that came to Retro Gulls, and we look forward to welcoming you all back to Plainmoor for our next event on Thursday 30th March!

About Retro Gulls

With the health and wellbeing in residents aged 50 and over widely recognised as another important aspect of community care within Torbay, supporters aged 50 and over will be invited to attend events in Boots & Laces once a month, with United stars present and past due to be in attendance for each meeting.

The Club will be focused on all things Torquay United, and will provide the opportunity to get Torquay talking. These events will give our ‘Retro Gulls’ the chance to discuss the current team, and those of yesteryear, with both fellow supporters and United stars past and present.

The events will vary each month, with future activities set to include fitness sessions, skittles, programme swap-shops, quizzes, bingo, workshops and much more!
