With the New Year now just hours away, TUAFC Club Chaplain Jordan Williams has provided a seasonal message for the Yellow Army.
To the Yellow Army,
As we come to the end of 2023 and start 2024, I’m sure we can all reflect collectively and individually on different highs and lows.
Even more than just this year, over the last few years we can reflect on huge highs, dark lows and great changes that have taken place.
One thing I can reflect upon that has helped me to overcome the lows and enjoy the highs is the community of people around me. Friends, family and work colleagues that I care for and experience the care of, help greatly in all seasons of life.
Christmas is a time that highlights the presence or lack of presence of a loving community around us. I wish I could say that 2024 will be a year without challenges. Unfortunately we all know that would be a lie. What is vitally important is who we allow to surround us in those challenges.
What I love about Torquay United is the family and community that we all are together. We may not always agree, but it is important that we continue to support one another and the Club moving forward. To show respect, love and kindness to everyone we meet.
The heart of the Christmas message is that God himself came to earth in the form of a baby to be close to us. To become a part of the community of support each one of us can experience and know.
We don’t have to face the challenges of a new year alone. We can experience the care and support of friends, family, work colleagues, fellow supporters and a God who drew near to humanity – whether you believe or not.
My prayer for our Torquay United community, for every supporter whether they are a few days old or in their 90s , is that you would experience a year full of peace, joy and hope. And that collectively we would enjoy a promotion together!
Have a great new year!
God Bless
Jordan Williams, TUAFC Club Chaplain
