The various age group teams from the Torquay United Community Sports Trust Girls Section, were given a wonderful chance to train on the pitch at Plainmoor Stadium on Monday evening.
Almost 100 girls from the Under 9, Under 11, Under 13 and Under 15 sides took part in the event, with sessions led by the fantastic team of TUCST Girls Team coaches.
They were also lucky enough to be visited by Emma Ayres, from the Torquay United Women’s Team, who was able to offer our budding young goalkeepers some expert coaching advice!
Jamie McInnes, who is the Girls Football Lead, spoke about the training session at Plainmoor.
“This was a superb event at Plainmoor, to showcase our thriving Girls Football department. All of our girls’ team players work incredibly hard in training and in their matches every week; to learn the beautiful game, develop their individual ability and most importantly have lots and lots of fun. They all thoroughly deserve special events like this evening, and seeing their smiles on the day, makes all the hard work behind the scenes worthwhile.”
Torquay United Community Sports Trust would like to place on record our sincere thanks to Torquay United AFC for this special opportunity. The Girls Team players all made donations to the Club, which totalled £200.06.
