TUFC head coach Gary Owers has talked about adding further players to his squad, and there could be loan deals on the table for some of the players that were playing for Bristol City on Tuesday night.

The Robins beat United 3-1 at Plainmoor thanks to goals from Jake Andrews and Opi Edwards. Brett Williams replied early in the second half for United.

“There’s a possibility with a couple of players that were on display for Bristol City tonight. I’ll pick that up in the week and like I say, I still need two or three [players].”

United also have to deal with an injury to on loan goalkeeper Alex Bass who looks likely to miss at least the opening game of the season. Shaun MacDonald was replaced by trialist goalkeeper George Burton in the second half.

“We’ve had a bit of a setback with Alex [Bass]. He’s suffered a groin injury so he’s going to be touch and go for the first week of the season. Hopefully we’ll have him back quite quickly after that and that’s something I’ll have to look at in the next ten days.

“I still need to sign another ‘keeper. I can’t afford to have just one ‘keeper going into the opening stages of the season.”
