Our mascot packages at Plainmoor provide lasting memories for our young fans, however for our mascot against Bromley next month, the experience promises to be even more unforgettable.
Over the festive period, members of Torquay United’s first-team squad paid their annual visit to Torbay Hospital, to donate presents on behalf of the club to the children in the Louisa Carey Ward.
During the visit, the players met 11 year-old Darragh, who attends Brixham Community College.
Although Darragh loves being outdoors and participates in a number of sports, such as Rugby, Rowing and Football, he has overcome a number of setbacks along the way.
Born prematurely in July 2008 weighing just 1.8kg, Darragh has suffered with breathing and reflux problems, resulting in numerous spells in hospital over the past few years. However, he has refused to let these difficulties hold him back, and continues to delight everyone with his funny, kind and helpful demeanour.
After learning of his positive attitude against the odds, the club arranged for Darragh to be the club’s mascot for the fixture on April 4th, giving him the opportunity to meet the players once again before the match, prior to leading them out onto the Plainmoor pitch.
We look forward to seeing you next month, Darragh, and hope you enjoy your special day!
