Torquay United’s VIP Packages continued to go from strength to strength in 2023/24, with children throughout the local community making the most of the chance to watch live football at Plainmoor.

With the venture enabling local children with autism and other learning difficulties to experience live footballing action in comfortable surroundings, some of our young guests were attending a professional sporting event for the very first time.

The scheme was originally launched in November 2022, and with our club proud to be recognised as an all-inclusive one, TUFC was delighted to continue this exciting initiative throughout the entirety of last season, as a number of children made their first footballing memories at Plainmoor.

As part of these special packages, ahead of the matchday, children will get to meet members of the United footballing staff and off-field team and familiarise themselves with the stadium and their surroundings. They will also be given Gift Vouchers to spend in the Club Shop and Food Kiosk, to make the day even more memorable!

Matchdays will then see the children invited to Plainmoor as guests of the Club, and enjoy the thrills and spills that only live sport can provide, as well as giving them a unique opportunity to build a lifelong passion for Torquay United.

For TUFC Disability Liaison Officer, Jo Harris, the VIP packages have proven to be a rewarding experience for all involved.

“It’s been a wonderful success, and it’s been great seeing so many happy faces,” said Jo.

“The excitement generated by our VIP guests has really added to the atmosphere here on home matchdays, and it’s been brilliant seeing them enjoying themselves in a comfortable and safe environment.”

All at Torquay United AFC would like to take this opportunity to thank the Torquay United Supporters Trust (TUST) for assisting with this community initiative throughout the course of the past nine months, and we hope all of our VIP guests enjoyed their experiences with us!
