Torquay United is pleased to announce that left-back Dan Martin has signed a new contract with the Club, ahead of the 2023/24 campaign.
Following his arrival at Plainmoor during the summer of 2021, Dan enjoyed a impressive first season at United, before an injury-hit 2022/23 saw the team robbed of one of their key assets down the left-flank.
However, with both the Club and player working hard behind the scenes to ensure his rehabilitation from illness and injury was a success this summer, Torquay boss Gary Johnson was understandably delighted that with the first game of the season now a little over two weeks away, he will once again be able to call upon one of the Yellow Army’s most popular players.
“Great to have Dan fit again,” said Johnson.
“So pleased for Dan, as he has had a terrible time with injury and illness over the past twelve months, but he’s back now and fighting fit, and is a big plus for our coming campaign.”
With Martin’s new deal rounding off a frantic Friday at Plainmoor, he – along with new arrivals Finley Craske and Will Jenkins Davies – will now all be setting their sights on Saturday’s pre-season friendly with Exeter City at Plainmoor.
“All three will play a part in tomorrow’s game, and hopefully our Yellow Army will give them a warm welcome.”
