Torquay United AFC is delighted to announce that Fleetwood Town forward Theo Williams has joined the Club on loan.

Exciting attacker Theo, 20, arrived at Fleetwood last summer after progressing through the youth ranks at Sheffield United, prior to earning a professional deal at Bramall Lane.

Last season saw Williams gain valuable experience at National League level with loan spells at Darlington FC and Farsley Celtic, with the latter stint particularly successful, as the pacy frontman notched 5 goals in 13 games to aid Farsley’s survival bid.

Equally comfortable in a number of attacking positions, Williams joins fellow Fleetwood player Callum Dolan in The Gulls’ ranks, with both United manager Gary Johnson and Town manager Lee Johnson hoping the temporary move will be successful for all parties.

“We identified him a little while ago, but he was playing for the Under-21. He’s a front player, very quick, and me and Lee believe he has got lots of potential,” said Johnson.

“He’s fairly experienced with the number of games, he’s played -especially at National League level – and he’s also played in the first-team for Fleetwood. His strength is his pace.

“I thought Callum did well, and hopefully Theo will come into the squad and give us good competition for places.”

This move is subject to FA, EFL & National League approval
