Striker Brett Williams has signed a new contract at the Club.

Williams was named in Gary Owers’ retained list and is ready to take on United’s first season in the National League South.

“I love the Club,” said Brett. “In terms of non-league clubs it has done a lot better than others in terms of professionalism. I’m 30-years-old now and staying full-time for as long as possible is my main priority.

Williams bolstered United’s attacking options last season when he arrived in January from Bromley, scoring 4 goals. The season didn’t end how anyone liked, but the challenge ahead is something that Brett is looking forward to.

“When I came in January I obviously wanted to help the Club stay up. It was probably more of a challenge than what we thought, but now I want to help put things right.

“I get on well with the Gaffer, so it was a no-brainer really.”

Williams played in the National League South for Eastleigh earlier in his career. United won’t be taking anything lightly in the season ahead. There are plenty of teams that will challenge for the title.

“When you have teams like Billericay who are spending money and you have teams like Dartford still in there, there ae a lot of experienced teams in the division. There’ll be a lot of pressure on us and we need to make sure we make a good start. We have to have that professional mentality and do things properly.

You can join Brett at Plainmoor next season by signing up for a 2018/19 season ticket.
