Full-back Ben Wynter is looking forward as United take a trip to Basingstoke Town in the Buildbase FA Trophy third round qualifying.
“It’s another big game,” said Wynter. “The boys are doing well and we’ll try and keep the good run going.
“I’m feeling good and I’m enjoying my football at the moment and how the boys are playing. We’re getting good results and we need to keep working hard.”
Wynter helped striker Saikou Janneh complete a hat-trick last time out against Concord Rangers.
“It was nice to get an assist for Saikou as part of his hat-trick; I was buzzing for him on the day. He’s worked hard since he’s come in and he’s doing well. For me to get an assist is good and I just want to get more and more.”
Wynter has been a part of a relatively settled back four since arriving in the summer.
“We’re still improving as a team and as a back four but we’ll keep working hard on the training pitch. We’re doing well as a back four and aiming to keep as many clean sheets as possible.”
Saturday’s match away to Basingstoke is United’s first taste of Buildbase FA Trophy action this season. It is just another game that Wynter wants to win. The match will be decided on the day with extra-time and penalties if the match is level after 90 minutes.
“To us we want to keep the run going and keep the form going every week and win every game. It’s just as important as a league game to us.
“We’ll still approach it the same way, with an attitude to get the job done in the 90 minutes.”
After four home games on the trot United now have three away trips. The Yellow Army will be on the move once again.
“We know we’re going to play tough away games and tough home games. The last two games have been superb with six points, eight goals, and two conceded. We just have to take that form into the away games and get the results.
“The support has been amazing. The atmosphere helps the boys more than the fans know and the results show this.”
