Following on from the success of our recent Community Day, TUAFC is delighted to announce that our next home match against Dover will see NHS and care staff invited to Plainmoor as guests of the Club.

During what has been a hugely testing last two years, members of the NHS, along with workers in the wider care network, have rightfully received plaudits from all across the nation for their tireless work in extremely challenging circumstances. Torquay United AFC is particularly proud of the work undertaken by these unsung heroes from all over Torbay, and will therefore be opening up our Wollens Terrace for the visit of Dover Athletic on Saturday, 13th November (3pm KO) to accommodate up to 1,000 visitors from employees in the NHS and care industry.

United manager Gary Johnson had this to say regarding the Club’s latest initiative:

“I can’t think of better recipients than the NHS, and care staff, to be invited to one of our games. We all know the fantastic work they’ve done, and the hard work they’ve put in for others, and I think all of us are so appreciative for what they do.

“We’ve all needed them at one stage or another. Credit to them, enjoy the game!”

This latest event further emphasises the pride Torquay United AFC has on being at the centre of the local community, with our inaugural Community Day providing further evidence of the Club’s belief that only by working together, can the very best be attained for our local community and its residents.

As the only professional sporting Club in Torbay, the Club is delighted to use both its heritage and profile to help support and promote local worthy causes. TUAFC has a bold vision for both the Football Club itself, as well as the local area, and will continue striving to be a strong and prominent component of a thriving and prosperous future for the local area.
