Cardiff City striker James Crole is set to become the latest addition to Gary Johnson’s Torquay United squad, having agreed a loan deal until the end of the season at Plainmoor.

Wales U19 starlet Crole, who is set to link up with fellow Cardiff loanee Kieron Evans, has already gained a reputation as a hugely promising frontman, with United boss Johnson delighted to secure the services of the highly-rated youngster.

Having forged a path for himself up through the ranks at The Bluebirds, Crole’s progress has gained further momentum during the past twelve months, with highlights including the forward bagging a hat-trick on his debut for City’s U23-side, before following that up with another strike in the first-team’s 2-0 pre-season win over Newport last July.

“James is a striker – a number nine – and he’s highly-thought of at Cardiff.” said the Gaffer.

“He’s a Welsh youth international, and he’s a welcome addition to our Club. This is subject to international clearance, which we’re hoping to get by the weekend.”
