TUAFC is delighted to announce the return of popular midfielder Dillon De Silva on a permanent deal.
De Silva initially arrived at Plainmoor last October, making his debut from the bench in our fixture at York City and went on to make 26 appearances and scored four goals in all competitions.
Then on loan from Championship side QPR, following in the footsteps of former loan signings Sinclair Armstrong and Stephen Duke-McKenna, Dillon established himself as a firm favourite amongst the Yellow Army, before being recalled to the London club in March.
A Sri-Lankan international, the 21-year-old received his first call-up in May 2021, and made his international debut the following month.
United Manager Gary Johnson was understandably pleased to see the former QPR winger return to the Club.
“To get Dillon back at Plainmoor on a permanent – he’s someone we’ve been keeping in touch with, throughout the summer and throughout pre-season and eventually we agreed that he would come to us,” began Gaffer.
“I’m sure the Yellow Army will be happy and Dillon’s buzzing to be back. It’s good to bring someone in at this late stage that knows our Club and knows our culture, and we obviously know him.”
This move is subject to National League and FA approval.
