Loan midfielder Callum Dolan is returning to Fleetwood Town, after being recalled by his parent club.

Callum’s impressive form for The Gulls during the past month saw him become an instant hit with the Yellow Army, with the 23 year-old making 6 appearances & scoring 2 goals in a Torquay shirt, including a superb opener in Tuesday night’s 4-1 win at Eastbourne Borough.

United’s boss reflected on his spell with the Club, with the player now returning to Lancashire to compete for a place in the squad of League One Fleetwood, managed by Gary Johnson’s son, Lee.

“Lee and I had a discussion to make sure that Callum Dolan got games. He’d done all his rehab from injury – he just needed games. After watching him, and knowing of him, we agreed to do that, and it turned out very well for us in the past couple of weeks.

“The loan was due to finish on January 1st, but unfortunately they’re allowed to call him back after 28 days due to the loan rules, and although Lee didn’t want to dismantle our own team, he needed him back to their first-team squad due to their circumstances.

“We were very pleased to have him, hopefully we can revisit it in the near future, and we thank him for his service. We hope both parties have been happy with the situation, and the relationship.”
