Torquay United is delighted to announce the loan signing of Guyana international midfielder Stephen Duke-McKenna from Queens Park Rangers.
21 year-old Stephen has been a regular member of the Championship club’s matchday squad this season, and has also made three appearances from the bench during QPR’s EFL Cup campaign, after making his debut in the 2-1 league win over Middlesbrough last term.
In addition to this, the young attacker has continued to add to his caps on the international stage, with Duke-McKenna figuring in Guyana’s qualifying campaigns for both the FIFA World Cup and CONCACAF Gold Cup over the past twelve months.
Having begun his career at Everton before a stint at Bolton preceded his move to West London, United manager Gary Johnson was understandably pleased to confirm another exciting addition to his squad.
“We’re very pleased to introduce Stephen Duke-McKenna,” began Johnson.
“We feel he will fit into our way of playing very well. He comes highly recommended, and we’ve seen him on several occasions first-hand. It’s a loan until the end of the season, and I’m sure he will fit into our ethos very well once he acclimatises, and we know he will.”
