TUWFC manager Steve Elswood set to embrace new role at the helm of United’s Women.

Having resigned from his post following last weekend’s home defeat against Abingdon, Steve Elswood has announced that Torquay United Women FC are on the lookout for a new manager of the FA Womens National League team, with Steve remaining with the side’s Director / Chairman.

Having enjoyed a remarkable spell in charge of TUWFC – winning the Devon Premier Cup and promotion to National League level for the first time, Elswood now feels the time is right to make changes in the Club’s structure in order to push on to even greater heights.

“I’d like to thank the Torquay fans for their support over last two years,” said Steve.

“We’ve achieved a lot – two trophies in two seasons. I now feel it’s time for a new voice to come in to drive forward, and achieve the safety we’re looking for.

“I will still be very close to the Club in my new role as Chairman, and will make sure TUWFC continue to progress its relationship with TUAFC in the future to achieve more success. For now, though, I’m handing over the reins for a new beginning from the touchline.”
