Gary Johnson has given his thoughts on the news that United will travel to Newport County in the Emirates FA Cup 2nd Round, should they win the 1st Round replay at Derby County.

It was only four months ago that Newport travelled down to Plainmoor to face The Gulls in a pre-season friendly, in a match that ended scoreless.

After securing a replay at Pride Park next week following Sunday’s pulsating 2-2 draw against The Rams at Plainmoor, Johnson was quick to stress that his men have plenty of work ahead of them before they can consider any potential new opponents, however both United and County now know who lies in wait for the victors.

“For me, it’s a jetski just across the Bristol Channel where I live, so it’s a home game for me, definitely,” quipped the Gaffer.

“That’ll be a bonus for me because I won’t have to travel far, but we can’t get excited. Both teams will be looking forward to that when it comes around, and it’s as good for us as it is for Derby.”
