Torquay United U18s made it to the second round of the FA Youth Cup last week and now face a trip to Maidenhead with the hope of making it to the third round.

United overcame Totton & Eling at 4-1 at Plainmoor with a goal apiece from Harry Smith and Jamie Passmore, and two goals from Olaf Koszela.
Koszela has had quite the season so far with twenty-seven goals from nine games.

“We went 1-0 up really quickly and we followed that up with a couple of chances,” explained Olaf. “We dropped off a little bit and that’s when they scored.

“At the half-time break we talked about what we have to do better to get into the next round. We scored three goals in the second half and saw the game out.”

Koszela scored with the final touch of the game.

“I scored a header for my first one and the second was right at the end. It was a little lucky, but you have to take every chance you can get.”

Maidenhead will provide a stern test for the U18s away from home on Monday, November 12 (kick-off 7:45pm).

“They are probably going to be the best team we will have played this season, and we’re away from home. We’ve just got to turn up, play our best game, and give it our all and hopefully we’ll be in the draw for the next round.”
