Torquay United head coach Gary Owers is still without the services of midfielders Jake Gosling and George Dowling, and defender Josh Gowling going into Saturday’s match against Tranmere Rovers.
Jake Gosling looks set for a loan move away from Plainmoor in search of match fitness.
“Jake is training but we’re trying to get him some game time, which hopefully we can solve for him in the coming week or so,” said Owers at his weekly press call.
“I’ve seen him in patches on the training ground, seen what he is capable of. I want to see more of it and I’ve explained that to him. I’m not sending him away forever, I just want him to go and catch the rest of the lads up and see if he can come back and make an impact.”
Bristol City loanee George Dowling is not ready to return to the squad.
“George Dowling is still up in Bristol, unfortunately for us, doing his rehab on his hamstring. We might not see too much of him before his loan expires.”
Captain Josh Gowling still has some progress to make until he can be considered for first team action after a knee injury.
“Josh Gowling hasn’t come back into training yet. He had his scan results and they were pretty positive. He’s getting over the later stages of the soreness and trying to do a little bit of conditioning as well. Hopefully he’ll be around in the next week or so.”
