We are pleased to announce that Bristol City has agreed for forward Saikou Janneh to extend his loan with Torquay United until the end of the season.

Janneh, 19, has racked up 10 National League South goals so far this season which included a hat-trick against Concord Rangers at Plainmoor.

“I’m very, very happy to work with Saikou for another couple of months,” said TUFC manager, Gary Johnson.

“We’ve got him hopefully now for the rest of the season. Of course, if Bristol City have a major problem, because of the nature of his loan – a youth loan – they can call him back. I have guarantees that that would only be in an absolute emergency because Bristol City are very happy with his development here. He certainly has developed, as a footballer, and as a man. He needed to play men’s football regularly and that has brought out the best in him.

“He’s been a fantastic acquisition for us as a 18/19-year-old. To score the amount of goals he has for us, and to assist in the number of goals that he has, and to have created a partnership with ‘Reidy’ [Jamie Reid] which is certainly second to none, we can only be delighted that Bristol City and Saikou have decided that this is the place for him to further his development.”
