After adding five new faces to his squad during January, manager Gary Johnson highlighted the importance of having a strong squad, with a busy fixture list on the horizon.
“We needed to improve our numbers anyway,” said Johnson.
“If we’re going to have games cancelled, we’ve got to fit in three – maybe four – or if we do well in the FA Trophy, it might be a few more. Hopefully the lads that aren’t quite fit yet, become fit, so the Club has allowed us to bring in a bigger squad, which is great.
“All three of them are good players because otherwise we wouldn’t have brought them here. We’ll see how they go, as to Torquay-fy them, sometimes they need to be in the team and have had two or three games to have understood our intensity. All of them now have been around for a couple of weeks without playing a game for us.
“I think they’ve all got something about them, and they’ll all add something to the squad.”
