Gary Johnson shared his thoughts on Monday’s FA Cup draw, which will see Maidstone make a swift return to Plainmoor, following the two sides’ National League South clash this weekend.

Just as last year, when United faced Barnet in an FA Trophy clash at Plainmoor before replicating the clash in a league fixture seven days later, the pairing together of ball numbers 26 and 27 in the Emirates FA Cup 4th Round Qualifying draw yesterday determined that both sides will be getting to know each other rather well during the course of the next fortnight.

“The good news is we were drawn at home, as we always say,” said Gulls boss Gary Johnson.

“It gives both teams the chance to see what the other team has got in the league game, in preparation for the FA Cup game.

“Of course, both teams will want to win both games, so it’s not ideal for Maidstone to be travelling twice to us in a week, but we’ll take each game as it comes, and at the moment we’ll be totally concentrating on the league game on Saturday.”
