United head into their final home pre-season match against Bristol City at Plainmoor.
The squad will be buoyed by their performance against Premier League side Cardiff City on Friday night. The Yellow Army will get to see some of the players that haven’t featured as much in the campaign so far, including a start for goalkeeper, Shaun MacDonald.
“It will be another tough game,” said TUFC head coach, Gary Owers. “I’m not quite sure what team they’ll come with. I’m probably going to give some of the lads that haven’t got as many minutes as they would have the liked the opportunity to play.
“It is another game in our preparation moving into the season.”
The Gaffer was happy to enthuse about the attitude the squad has adopted so far. More players are on the way.
“I need to fill the squad out a little bit,” Owers added. “We’re short, I want it to be at least 18 [players], so we’ll see how I get on with that in the coming weeks. I’m more than pleased with what I have got, what I have put together so far.
“I know it is only pre-season but it is enjoyable, honestly, it is different coming in [for training]. We came in yesterday for training and we were tired – they just got on with it. There was no dramas, they just got on with it.”
