The pitch is for players and staff only.

The final match of any football season is always a passionate affair for supporters, and this weekend’s home clash against Wrexham will be no different, in what has been a dramatic campaign for both Clubs.

It is important to remember, however, that in the interest of safety and wellbeing for both sets of players and staff, NO supporters are allowed to enter the field of play, either during the match, or at the end of the game. Encroachment onto the pitch – for any purpose – puts the welfare of all players, staff and fellow supporters at risk, and is also a criminal offence.

At the beginning of the 2022/23 season, the governing bodies of the Premier League, the EFL, the National League System, and The FA, all joined forces with the Football Supporters’ Association, in order to introduce new measures and stronger sanctions to eradicate anti-social and criminal behaviours, such as entering the pitch and the use of pyrotechnics.

In addition to the automatic Club bans and police action that any such behaviour will result in, supporters partaking in any anti-social activities are also liable to receive a criminal record, which will then directly impact employment and education prospects, restrict ability to travel overseas, and could even result in a custodial sentence. Any banning orders issued by the Club may also be extended to accompanying parents / guardians of children who take part in this activity.

We therefore request that all fans remain in the stands when showing their support for their respective teams, to ensure that matches at Torquay United AFC can continue to pass without disruption.

We thank all home and away supporters for their understanding in advance, and we look forward to welcoming you all to Plainmoor on Saturday.
