Whilst Gary Johnson’s men will be heading for Derbyshire to take on the league leaders in tomorrow’s televised match, quite a few members of the Gulls squad will have very recent memories of victory at the Technique Stadium.

Going into the match last May, United had been never won a league match at the home of the Spireites, however that would all change following a superb display from Johnson’s charges.

After Jake Andrews and Dean Moxey had both sent in early warnings for the home side, it was last weekend’s matchwinner – Connor Lemonheigh-Evans – who eventually put Torquay in front on 11 minutes.

Andrews went close to extending that lead soon after, and although the home side mounted a bid to restore parity either side of the interval, United remained in charge of proceedings, before scoring a second, clinching goal in the 77th minute, as skipper Asa Hall’s superb awareeness freed up Billy Waters to make it 2-0.

More of the same tomorrow please, lads!
