Ahead of a huge week at Plainmoor, United boss Gary Johnson took time out to focus on the vital role the club’s supporters can play over the next two fixtures.

United face promotion rivals Wealdstone on Saturday (30/03/19 3pm KO), ahead of the visit of Chelmsford City the following Tuesday (02/04/19 7.45pm), and with six points up for grabs, the United boss is in no doubt of the importance of both matches.

“Let us none of us be in any doubt that the next two games are massive for this football club,” said Johnson.

“You can’t make people come to the game, the ones that have come to the game hopefully have felt that they’ve had value for money, but if we can make home advantage work for us, we will need an unbelievable effort on the pitch, and an unbelievable amount of noise and support and enthusiasm off the pitch”

“If we can get the ground bouncing, as the lads have been singing over in the Popside, all around the ground then that’ll be amazing. We’ve got a group of lads that respond to that atmosphere, a real raucous atmosphere. I think our supporters are clever as well, they know when to scream up, they know when to sing a song, they know who to rally and when to rally, so we don’t need to coach them.”

“We just need a few more getting involved, through the gate, and all around the ground. We need that massive Torquay United support”
