Torquay United AFC is delighted to announce that Newport County forward Lewis Collins has joined the Club on loan until the end of the season.

The arrival of the Wales U21 international is the latest addition to Gary Johnson’s squad, which has already been rejuvenated by the recent arrivals of Nico Lawrence, Jacob Mensah and Tope Fadahunsi.

Collins – who is equally comfortable up front or out wide – arrives at Plainmoor having made 87 appearances and scoring 5 goals for the League 2 outfit, and after tracking his progress for some time, the Gaffer was understandably delighted to have added the highly-rated 21 year-old to his ranks for the remainder of the campaign.

“We’re very pleased to welcome Lewis Collins to Torquay,” said Johnson.

“We’ve gone in for him a couple of times, but he was a regular participant in their matchday squad at Newport. When he did become available, Newport let us know, and after me and Downesy talked with the lad at the Services before we were picked up for Woking, an agreement was made.

“He’s a player that’s quick, and can play one of either position of striker or wide player, and we hope he enjoys his time with us.”
