We are pleased to announce that goalkeeper Vincent Dorel has signed a new contract to stay with the Club until the end of the season.
Dorel, 25, has made 21 appearances for United this season after joining in early September.
“We’re happy to offer him a deal until the end of the season,” said TUFC head coach Gary Owers after training today.
“He’s been in the team and done well. I like his attitude. I like his worth ethic – he’s earned it.
“He’s one of the best trainers at the Club, Vincent, so that’s what I want to see from everyone.”
Fellow goalkeeper Ryan Clarke started United’s last match against Eastleigh at Plainmoor, and the Gaffer is pleased to have two ‘keepers that are so closely matched.
“They’re close. I felt it was time to give Ryan an opportunity last week and I have to consider that position on a weekly basis now.”
For Vincent it was a case of seeing through what he had started since joining the Club at the beginning of September.
“It makes sense for me to stay and to play a full season with Torquay,” said Vincent after training today.
“I’m not a quitter so I am staying to do my best for the team. I want to stick with the lads and complete our objective this season.”
