Midfielder Will Hancox has moved to Northern Premier League side Rushall Olympic F.C.
Will was a part of United’ youth system before signing a pro contract in 2015.
He made his first team debut against Basingstoke in the FA Cup in October 2015, and made his league debut against Aldershot Town near the end of last season.
Rushall play in the Premier Division of the Northern Premier League, and is managed by former Torquay United defender, Wayne Thomas.
Torquay United manager, Kevin Nicholson sees this move as the next logical step in Will’s development as a footballer.
“I’m delighted for Will,” said Nicholson.
“Will is similar to Tallan Mitchell in the sense that we want to see him grow and develop as a player, and I have opened up all that we have to help him – the rest is up to him. He will still train with us when his Rushall commitments allow, so he will get the best of both worlds in full-time training and being a regular 1st team player, at a good level, working for a good guy.
“We will monitor Will and it’s all in his hands now. He has done well to get some game time for us and I wouldn’t rule out more in the future, but the next logical step for him is to be a regular and he now has that chance.
“I look forward to seeing his development.”
“Will has come here for all the right reasons,” said Rushall Olympic manager,Wayne Thomas. “He’s been at Torquay for a long time but wanted to come away in order to get regular first-team football at a good level.
“He’s a fantastic character who has the desire to kick-on with his career and do well,” Thomas told his official club website.
