Torquay United head coach Gary Owers has extended midfielder’s George Dowling’s youth loan from Bristol City.
Dowling scored on his debut at Plainmoor before picking up a hamstring injury against Barrow that cut short his involvement. He is due to return to TUFC next week.
“I know George really well,” said Owers at today’s press call.
“In my previous roles scouting he is a player I have watched numerous times. I have watched him play for the youth team at Bristol City. I have watched him play for the U23s.
“He was here when I arrived. He played in the Barrow game and for the first twenty minutes he was one of the reasons why we did so well at Barrow. He energetic, young, enthusiastic. He had scored in one of his previous games so he has an eye for goal.
“We want the strongest possible squad available so he is going to add to that.”
He will now stay with United for another two months with the possibility of further extensions.
