Ali Omar received recognition for his form in September earlier this week, as he was presented with the TUAFC Player of the Month award by sponsors, BVEC.

Having played every minute of the four games during September, Omar was a clear winner for this month’s award as voted for by the Yellow Army, with his first league goal for the Club and a number of goal-line clearances to his name during September.

The Club would like to place on record its thanks to everyone that took the time to have their say, and we look forward to receiving your votes for October, when voting opens at the end of the month – More details will be announced in due course.

TUAFC would also like to thank BVEC for sponsoring each Player of the Month award for 2022/23, with Company Director Dan Veasey at Plainmoor to hand over the award in person.

“It’s fantastic, the Club is one of the biggest features of the South West,” said Dan.

“It’s great to be involved, and we have been for a few years now. It’s great for the Club, it’s great for us, and it’s good for the business as well, as I think it puts us in high regard with our clients that are involved with the Club.”

The Gulls’ popular defender, meanwhile, was delighted to receive the award;

“It means so much to me that i’ve been selected to win this award, because with all the nominees that were involved i think anyone of us could have won it.”

“With some of the performances that the boys have had during September, and then to be chosen as the winner from the five of us nominated, i feel very honoured to win and hopefully it’s my first of many, so thank you to the Yellow Army who voted for me.”
