Following an exciting summer for first-year pro Scott Piper, the United youngster has joined Southern League side Willand Rovers on loan.
With fellow young professional Olaf Koszela also heading out on loan recently to gain match practice at Tiverton Town, Piper’s temporary move to Rovers has also been arranged to provide Scott with vital senior match experience, as manager Gary Johnson explained.
“Because we haven’t got a reserve team as such, like Olaf, it’s important that they get games at the end of training every week.
“They need a game at the end of training week, and Willand were happy to take ‘Pipes’ and it will be good experience for him. The loan will be with a 28-day recall, and it will help him put into practice what he has been doing throughout the week with us.”
Piper will be looking to emulate Koszela’s form in mid-Devon, with United’s young striker notching a hat-trick in Tivvy’s 5-1 home win over Beaconsfield last Saturday.
Best of luck, Scott!
