26 year-old wideman Stobbs arrived at Plainmoor from Oldham on loan towards the end of the 2022/23 campaign, and made the move permanent to United upon his release from Boundary Park.

The Leeds-born player came through the youth ranks at Sheffield Wednesday before signing his first professional contract at the Hillsborough club in 2014, where he then stayed for the next six years. During his time with the Owls, Stobbs spent time on loan at Port Vale and also in Scotland at Livingston, prior to spending 2020-21 at non-League Grantham Town.

Arriving at Boundary Park for 2021-22, Jack went on to make over 40 appearances for The Latics, and scored two goals for the club.
