United enter their penultimate friendly and last away trip of pre-season when they take on Plymouth Parkway on Tuesday night (kick-off 7:45pm)
United are fresh from Saturday’s 1-0 win over Weymouth, and this is the time when the manager and the Yellow Army cast their eyes further afield to the starting eleven that will take on Tranmere Rovers at Plainmoor, on August 5.
Parkway play in the South West Peninsula League Premier Division. They finished in 7th place in 2016-17 and are managed by Lee Hobbs.
“Plymouth Parkway is going to be another realistic test as to what we will be facing each week in the National league,” said Nicholson.
“they are a team with plenty of lower league experience who are expecting a big season themselves. I’m sure they’ll be strong and aggressive against us.
“I want to see us stand up to that and impose our style upon them but it certainly won’t be easy.
“I’m very much looking forward to another chance for our lads to gel and improve again ready for the season to start which is coming around extremely quickly.”
