New loan signing Jazzi Barnum-Bobb is eager to get started after completing a loan move to the Club.

Gary Owers moved for the right-back after keeping track of the talented defender.

“I played in a game in the Checkatrade Trophy earlier this season and the Gaffer [Gary Owers] was there to watch,” said Jazzi.”I got a call from my Gaffer at Newport saying that Torquay want to take me on loan. I want to play games and I haven’t been playing so it is a no-brainer to come down here and get started.

“I think I am a pacey and powerful player. I like to get up and down and I can play anywhere down the right side, but right-back or wing-back suits me perfectly. I like to bring energy to the team, pace, and a bit of quality in the final third. The defensive work is important. You have to do both sides nowadays as a wing-back so I like to think that is what I can bring to the team.”

Despite the Gaffer knowing about Barnum-Bobb, playing under the Gaffer will be a new experience for our new signing.

“I haven’t met the Gaffer before but he has said that he has seen me play. Some of the boys I have played with before have worked under him. Lots of boys have told me bits and bobs about him. It was the first time I was meeting him today [Tuesday] and I can’t wait to play for him and repay his faith for bringing me down here.

“I’m looking forward to start training and meeting the lads.”
