A late comeback from United saw them retain their unbeaten record under new manager Gary Johnson

United were going into this game with confidence after the 7-0 hammering against Lymington in the FA Cup a week prior.

A disappointing first half from United saw Woking take their chances well and score two good goals. Max Kretzschmar and Jake Hyde put the Cards in front at the break only for United to fight back and earn a draw thanks o two goals from Jamie Reid.

United started off the game with intent as they applied the pressure from the first minute. A clever flick on from Andrews played Keating into the box whose hard and low cross was cleared from danger.

Woking showed the damage they could do if they were given chances in front of goal. A looping header during early doors smacked the crossbar and let United off the hook.

United seemed off the pace at times with countless sloppy passes ruining good opportunities to create openings.

The first goal came in the 24th minute from a free kick on the edge of the box. Max Kretzschmar fired the ball underneath the wall and a slight deflection saw the ball end up in the bottom right hand corner.

A clever bit of skill from Reid allowed him to beat his man and put the ball into the box, the cross was dealt with but only as far as Hall who floated the ball back in. Keating got his head on it but missed the target.

Wokings second of the game came in the 39th minute. A through ball over the top was brought down by Hyde who pulled the ball back – beating Sendles-White in the process -and placed it beautifully into the top right giving Bass no chance.

Johnson didn’t want to wait until half time to address the problems in his side and made a double substitution in the 43rd minute bringing on Saikou Janneh and new loan signing Connor Lemonheigh-Evans for Ruairi Keating and Chris Regis.

United were unlucky not to grab a goal back before half time. Liam Davis curled a lovely ball into the box but Jamie Reid failed to get anything on the end of it.

United looked much better in the second half.

Saikou Janneh was looking lively and had a good chance in the 47th minute where he picked up a loose ball on the edge of the box but his shot is blazed over the bar.

Janneh again had a great chance a few minutes later as Reid passes to him in the box but again his shooting lets him down and he slices his shot out for a goal kick. Reid and Janneh were working well together.

United didn’t take their foot off the gas and created chance after chance. It was only a matter of time before they’d get a goal. Reid picked up the ball in the box and a clever touch and swivel gave him some space to have a shot. His attempt beat Ross and found its way into the bottom left.

United now had some hope that they could get a result from this game and with Brett Williams replacing Wynter. United went all-out to try and get an equaliser.

Jamie Reid again came to the rescue in the 85th minute. An over the top through ball put Reid one on one, he then calmly rounded the keeper and slotted the ball into the empty net to make it 2-2.
