Retro Gulls returned in Boots & Laces last Friday afternoon, as United pair Dillon De Silva & Will Jenkins Davies took centre stage during our latest event.

United duo Dillon De Silva & Will Jenkins Davies were the guest players to attend September’s Retro Gulls event, with both players answering questions from another good turn out, before deciding to take on the room in our fun but competitive quiz, which this month was fifteen questions all about the FA Cup.

With most questions being of multiple choice answers, the quiz was again another close run thing, with The Window End team winning with a very good eleven points. Will and Dillon for their part scored a very respectable seven points. Well done boys!

The second half of the afternoon saw the group relive some of their favourite Torquay United memories from the FA Cup, as well as other games etched in the mind, and included some stories from former referee Lester Shapter, who had the room laughing at some of the tales from his career.

Torquay United AFC would like to thank everyone that came to Retro Gulls, and we look forward to welcoming you all back to Plainmoor for our next event of the season on Thursday 26th October, 2pm – 4pm!

About Retro Gulls

With the health and wellbeing in residents aged 50 and over widely recognised as another important aspect of community care within Torbay, supporters aged 50 and over will be invited to attend events in Boots & Laces once a month, with United stars present and past due to be in attendance for each meeting.

The Club will be focused on all things Torquay United, and will provide the opportunity to get Torquay talking. These events will give our ‘Retro Gulls’ the chance to discuss the current team, and those of yesteryear, with both fellow supporters and United stars past and present.

The events will vary each month, with future activities set to include fitness sessions, skittles, programme swap-shops, quizzes, bingo, workshops and much more!
