Torquay United is delighted to confirm that striker Ruairi Keating has signed a contract extension with the club.

Keating joined the club back in February 2017 and is one of the longest serving members of the current playing squad.

This season Ruairi has shown his versatility by producing a number of impressive performances from the right of midfield, whilst continuing to score some vital goals.

Manager Gary Johnson was very pleased to secure the services of the Irishman.

“I am delighted that Ruairi has decided to stay with us,” said Johnson

“Ruairi’s had a very good first half of the season that was only interrupted by a couple of injuries and a suspension. Ruairi’s power and pace is ideal for our way of playing and it’s good that he has settled down into the swing of things, despite interest from clubs back in Ireland. His family often travel from Ireland to watch him play; that is a commitment that they enjoy.

“Ruairi’s another player in our group that can play in two positions, as a striker but most recently with me as a wide player. This ability will be needed for the run-in towards the end of the season.”

We’ll be uploading an interview with Ruairi to Official TUFC TV soon.
